You may choose any ONE of the following options to answer in an essay which will be graded with the rubric most recently posted on share point:
1- William Gass wrote an essay about Invisible Cites posted on Sharepoint as of 8 am. Read the essay, then refute his thesis using text from the novel and Dante's Inferno.
2- Compare Waking Life to any two cities from Invisible Cities. You must include two screen shots that you closely analyse in terms of compostion. You should not simply compare them, but form an original thesis about these two works.
3- Based on your understanding of Calvino's Invisible Cities (which you must make explicit in your essay) decide which of the cities (note the plurality) is most like this video game:

Be sure to cite specific moments in your own version of the game.
For any further questions e-mail me at jtangen@cng.edu.
Your essays must be posted on your blogs no later than 8am tomorrow. I look forward to reading them.

Alternative Final Exam Essay
Paula and Ramon,
In an essay explain the connection between any three cities from Invisible Cities and "Triumph of Death" by Brueghel to answer the following question: in the end does death triumph?
You may use no other outside sources. Only your text, your analytic skills and the painting may be employed. Also, be sure to discuss form and content (at some point explicitly). You will be graded on the rubric established by our class. Your essay is due by noon tomorrow. Please post it on your blogs.

Our last week:
Due to the SIS projects, I regret to say that I won't be in class either Tuesday or Wednesday. I will expect you to have finished Pygmalion and have worked on each scene. Friday we will discuss Pygmalion and create the rubric for our final.
Please keep reading Invisible Cities. You'll want time to digest it before writing about it.
