Hey Mr. Tangen. As a comment of my blog you said
"How do you know bad words weren't used in the 40s. Be aware of hasty generalizations."
I generalised the 40;'s in my blog as "not using bad words often" because of the text in the book. In the book it says "Get out of the road, you dumb mother fucker." The last word was still a novelty in the speech of white people in 1944. It was fresh and astonishing to Billy, who had never fucked anybody-." Therefore I understood when they said it was still a "novelty to white people" I understood that the generation in that time did not use bad words as commonly as we do now. Sorry I did not explain this to you in class.
